The Story Behind the Symbol

It began, many years ago, with something simple — a love letter.

As its creator, Laurent-Georges Formisano, searched for a way to express what words could not, his hand began to draw what would become the I Love You Symbol. In that moment, he realized something quietly extraordinary: though love is spoken in every language, no universal symbol existed to give it form.

More than twenty years ago, the design was formally protected — preserving what would become the world’s first visual expression of the words ‘I love you.’ For decades, the symbol lived privately within the Formisano family, a cherished expression of their values and their way of seeing the world.

Now, after years of careful stewardship, the family has chosen to bring the symbol forward.

Not as a trend.
Not as a logo.
But as an icon — a lasting gesture of love, made visible.

The Vision for The Symbol

The I Love You Symbol was created to exist beyond language.

It is meant to be recognized instantly, understood intuitively, and carried across cultures, generations, and time. The vision is not simply to create an object, but to offer the world a shared expression of love — one powerful enough to connect people at a glance.

I Love You The Symbol  is intended to appear wherever love is present: in moments of union, remembrance, celebration, and devotion. Whether worn, gifted, or encountered, it becomes a point of connection — a quiet but unmistakable signal that something meaningful is being shared.

By giving the words ‘I love you’ a visible form, the symbol allows love to move freely between people, cultures, and lives. In this way, it does more than represent love — it creates a bridge between those who feel it.

The I Love You Symbol is meant to leave a mark not through volume, but through recognition — a universal gesture that, once seen, is never forgotten.
